Works as expected. Swapped it in, updated drivers/firmware, and it linked at 100G without drama. A little warm under load so make sure your airflow is decent, but no actual problems so far.

Look, they're pricey for an SR optic. But if you have Intel X520 or X710 cards, these just work without any driver tweaking. I got stuck with a pile of generic SFPs that wouldn't link—swapped to these, problem solved. Sometimes it's worth paying for the OEM tax.

Intel's X520 is the gold standard for 10G NICs. Dual SFP+, supports pretty much any optic or DAC. Runs well in Linux, Windows, BSD. Just make sure you have airflow—they run hot without it.

These Intel PRO/1000 cards are tanks. Single RJ45, PCIe, just works with every OS. No frills, no drama. If you need a reliable 1G NIC for an old box, grab one of these used for cheap.

Good card once drivers were updated Pretty happy with this adapter overall. First use was in a Windows Server 2022 machine and I had to update drivers before the last port behaved correctly, so not exactly plug and play for me. After that though, performance has been excellent and CPU overhead seems low even under heavier transfers.

Intel makes the gold standard for NICs. This X550 is rock solid. Been running 24/7 for months pushing 10G—no drops, no driver issues. Worth every penny for the peace of mind.

These X710s are workhorses. No SFP+ transceivers to mess with—just plug in Cat6a and go. Great for connecting to existing copper infrastructure. Intel quality means it'll run for years without a hiccup.

These are just rebranded Finisars, which means they're top tier. Dual rate works perfectly—ran them at both 1G and 10G without any tweaking. Genuine Intel quality.

Intel rebranded Finisar quality—can't beat it. Running these in a mix of Intel NICs and third-party switches without a hitch. Reliable 10km optics.
