Works as expected.

Got this to configure Cisco 64xxx series UCS Fabric Interconnects.Plugged it into my Windows 10 laptop. The device was automatically recognized without the need to hunt for drivers.Very happy so far.

Good except drivers

Isn't 100% plug and play. Easy enough to install drivers, but most of us ordering this are using company laptops that are locked down and need IT to install it.

Just as good as the Meraki/Cisco branded ones

Don't waste your money buying the expensive Cisco branded cables!

Release yourself from the DB-9!

If you are looking at this item I am guessing you are very familiar with the same color blue just with a DB-9 on one end and a RJ45 on the other side. For years I have resisted, found ways to jam serial cards onto a PCIe slot... (Amuse yourself someday by asking a Best Buy employee about RS-232 or RS-422, any of those cards are custom order at this point because they are soooo old) or I would be using the world oldest laptop because it has the serial port... I even went as far as modifying Geoff Graham's VT-100 Parallax Propeller build just so I could avoid the super huge UART USB/Serial cable and keep on with good old Cisco blue. (Lets face it, Juniper had the right idea with the little adapter thing we could use with any copper ethernet... be real with me... we all lost them and could never find them when we needed them) However I am now on the (U)niversal (S)erial (B)us train? See what I did there, nerds have jokes. They finally have the chipset down small enough that you don't have to carry around a jumper cable with some brick with flaky drivers. I bought this one just to see, thought maybe I would upgrade, but nope it is now in the kit and ready to GO! Worked fine on RHEL and Mint (So I am guessing an easy win for any of their relatives on the Debian line or CentOS and so on) It was a little jinxy on SUSE but who cares, Jurix is DEAD. I did get it to work but it took some tinkering. So yeah. Spend ten dollars and get this nice little cable for the kit!

This things just works

This works great with our HP Procurve network switches. I wish I had bought one of these sooner. Don't bother with Prolific chipsets, get the FTDI like this and forget it. Works in Windows and Linux.

Works Extemely Well!

I'm a network tech, and I use this for consoling into switches, UPS's, and all kinds of equipment a regular basis. It works well, is cheap, and does what I need it to do.

Works with Cisco, Sophos and HP

I have used it on several units. It has worked perfectly with Cisco and Sophos firewalls and HP switches.

Works exactly as hoped. USB connector sheath is a bit bulky.

I like these cables as they do the job and are well made. However, the USB connectors are so bulky that they prevent you from connecting other dongles or important peripheral devices. If you bought two of these cables, they won't be able to plug into USB ports together that are one on top of the other like you see with a Rpi or most other computers. It just won't fit due to the big usb rubber connector
