Was stuck with a mobile switch stack and no way to interface with them

Helped me deploy a network in a box by connecting into my Cisco switches so I could configure them. Almost wrecked a whole trade show, but thanks to amazons crazy fast delivery, I was able to save the day. Does not make the actual config any easier unfortunately.

So, there are a lot of bad reviews on this cable, it does in fact work with HP switches. I just logged in. It took some finessing but got it to work. Ensure you install the drivers, and make sure device manager sees it as "USB Serial Port" and the manufacturer on properties should say FTDI. After that use Putty, MobaXterm, etc, and make sure you set your settings properly to your equipment. Not all equipment uses the same settings and console cables are not plug and play.Update: I have also tried this on a Cisco switch and it works as well. Again, you need to plug it in and out a few times, but then it works.

Works great. You have to update your USB driver if it initially looks like its not working.

It's affordable, but not cheaply made! It works...

I use one of these with a Panasonic Toughbook... most routers, switches, and other devices, are going USB. Despite the fact that most businesses will use a piece of hardware until it reaches end of life, or end of lease... whichever comes first! So, you adapt, and carry legacy cables, because you never know who's running what!!!
